Key Takeaways:
- Being a “warrior” in business can lead to burnout because you feel like you constantly have to fight and be on guard. This activates the stress response which can limit your success.
- The empowered CEO is a connector who can be vulnerable, confident, and relaxed instead of always feeling like everything is a battle.
- When you create success from a “fight” mindset, you tend to think you have to keep fighting to achieve more. It becomes exhausting.
- Shift to creating from openness, expansion and flow instead of forcing things through fighting. You can receive abundance more easily this way.
- Do the inner work first to shift your perspective, then build strategies. When you know success is inevitable, every strategy works better.
Hey. Hey. So today we’re going to talk about being the warrior and how this can actually bite you in the bum when it comes to your business, your income and your success.
So when you are the warrior in your business, it can come with a lot of positive connotations, right? You’re a mentally strong badass. You can get get done, you can push through anything, you can achieve anything you set your mind to. Woo, right? Totally awesome.
There are so many awesome facets of being a warrior. You know what I mean? You are just ready to go to ground and just fight your way through no matter what you encounter. You are so freaking tough.
But here’s the thing about being a warrior. A warrior only really knows how to fight. A warrior is usually coming from a place of hyper vigilance and always expecting another fight.
And so when you wear the identity of being a warrior in your business, what happens is that you are constantly on the lookout for a fight. Why this is important is essentially, this is you playing into a stress response. This is you potentially playing into a trauma response of being hyper vigilant.
This is you essentially feeling as though if you don’t fight, you’ll never get what you want. And that in and of itself will serve as a self limiter in terms of your ability to create more success and abundance. So, just in case you’re new to me, here’s how this works.
The reason that will serve as a limiter is because when you experience stress and you go into the fight or flight response, and the warrior is usually in a fight response, what happens is your physical body will experience stress and it will give your brain feedback that whatever it is that’s stressful is unsafe. And it will try to hold you back from that thing that feels unsafe, even if that thing is more money and more success in your business. And so when you are constantly feeling as though you have to fight to survive, you have to fight for success, you have to fight for more income, you have to fight for attention, you have to fight for every sale.
Guess what happens? Your body is almost chronically constantly stressed out and feeling as though you’ve got to have your guard up, you’ve got to have your fists up. I mean, think about that warrior stance. Your fists are up, ready to fight.
And so your physical body is constantly giving your subconscious mind that this thing is always going to be a fight. Now, what happens with that is, like I said, your subconscious mind then holds you back from achieving it because it feels dangerous to have to fight for something all the time. It feels exhausting to have to fight for something all the time.
It feels overwhelming. It feels, like, burdensome. You really feel into that for a moment.
Imagine being a warrior and wearing your armor and holding your sword up in front of you all the time. At first, that sword feels powerful and it feels really amazing because it feels like you can cut through anything. But eventually you end up feeling the burden of the weight of having to hold on to that sword.
You feel the burden of having to carry it on your back all of the time. You begin to feel the burden of constantly looking around you for the next threat, for the next fight, for the next problem that’s going to arise that you’re going to have to battle through in order to survive. You begin to feel the burden and the weight of wearing armor all the time.
And that armor actually ends up making you feel like you’re alone because you can’t have close connection with other people wearing armor. Think about it. Could you hold a baby to your skin, to your heart, if you were wearing armor? No.
You’d have to take your armor off first. But the warrior, the warrior is always ready to fight. The warrior can’t take their armor off.
So they can’t connect through that vulnerability, through that authentic connection. The warrior is always burdened by the weight of the next fight that they’re anticipating. And the warrior actually sometimes even feels uncomfortable when there’s no fight to be had.
The warrior is sitting there by the fireside after the day’s battle. Let’s say they won the battle. What do they do now? What do they do now? They’re so primed for the fight that their subconscious mind will continue to look for the next fight, the next problem.
It’ll be on edge. It’ll be uncomfortable with the sense of calm, with a sense of ease, with a sense of pleasure, the sense of relaxation. And instead, the warrior will say to themselves, no, I’ve got to be ready.
I’ve got to be ready to jump up in the middle of the night just in case an invader invades our camp and I have to protect us. This is what I mean when I say the warrior has incredible abilities and skills and awesome aspects to it. The warrior having to wear the identity of the warrior comes with so many burdens, potentially, and it can lead to burnout.
And ultimately it’s related to a feeling of needing to be hyper vigilant for threats, which might come from trauma, which might come from stress. So when you can put down the mantle of needing to be the warrior in your business, and instead realize that being an empowered CEO does not mean being a warrior. It might mean being a warrior at times when there’s a battle to fight, but it doesn’t mean having to be the warrior all the time, to have to go it alone, to have to be on your own, to figure out everything of your own.
Then suddenly you’re freed to, because the empowered CEO is a connector. The empowered CEO can be vulnerable. The empowered CEO can feel confident and relaxed and like they don’t have to work all the time.
And like everything isn’t a battle or a burden or a sacrifice or potential suffering. Screw that shit, right? So when you can step out of this old way of coping, this old way of coping that says I have to be the warrior, I have to fight for every scrap of what I have, things become so much easier. Realizing that this is an old way of coping is an important, essential component of this, because you were probably taught at some point when you were young that this was the way to survive, that this was the way to be successful, that you might have even heard it from your parents.
You’ve got to fight for everything you’ve got. Only hard work, only battling through will get you there. But what if that wasn’t true? And what if it could be a lot easier and a lot more fun and a lot less freaking stressful, right? When you step out of this fight or flight response, because this is the fight response, in response to stress, you become empowered to create a business that feels good while you’re creating it.
And that means that when you have the success and income that you desire, it feels good when you get there. You see, when we create something from like a fight response, from the warrior ethos, from this warrior perspective, what happens is that we feel as though we have to continue being a warrior when we get the success, when we get more money, we feel we have to continue fighting to achieve even more. So we get the year, and we fought tooth and nail to get there.
Well, once I get there, I’m going to have to fight tooth and nail to get to my 30k months. Well, now that I got there, now I have to fight tooth and nail to get to my 60k months. And now I got there, I have to fight tooth and nail to get to my 100k months.
We believe we have to continue down the track of how we’ve created things all along because that becomes our identity and that becomes the mantle, the cloak, the cape, the superhero cape that we wear that says, this is who I am. Well, if you’re a warrior, and you’ve had to fight every single day of your whole life. Welcome to every single day of the rest of your life.
And I’m sorry to put it that way, but I call it like it is. And I don’t want you to have to live your life that way. I don’t want you to have to be a warrior.
I want you to be able to choose to be a warrior when it suits you. But to be able to put it down and realize that you don’t have to be the first step in that is really getting your body on board, really regulating your nervous system, really identifying these core stressors in your physical body that are causing you to feel like you’re constantly having to fight for everything. That’s making you feel like everything is an uphill battle, that’s making you feel like everything’s a battle to begin with.
Everything’s a problem to solve instead of an adventure to have, instead of a little puzzle to noodle on, instead of something to tweak and figure out and to play with instead of something to create. It sounds simple, and I’m like a broken record with this. But when you can shift from feeling like you don’t have to fight anymore, like you don’t have to be overwhelmed, like you don’t have to sacrifice or struggle or suffer or give things up, and that you can actually create what you want from play and pleasure and delight.
Every single thing will shift in your business and in your finances. Yes, I know I saying everything, but it makes it more fun. See, this is what I’m talking about.
Making things more fun. So really putting down the sword, realizing you don’t have to struggle, you don’t have to sacrifice, you don’t have to carry the burden of constant self protection, your armor, all of the time. You don’t have to be hyper vigilant for the next fight, for the next problem, for the next shit that will hit the fan, for the shoe to drop.
Because the truth is you can’t really fight your way to abundance. I mean, okay, let’s be honest. Are there people who fight their way to abundance? Yes.
Are there people who are struggling their way to the top? Yeah. Are there people who hustle their way to the top? Yeah, there are. This is a different philosophy.
And if you want to do the whole hustle struggle, it’s a pain in the ass thing. That’s cool. Go do that.
I don’t care. It’s all good. If you want to do that, that’s cool.
This is a different thing, my friends. This is about creating it from a place of openness, expansion, relaxation and feeling responsive to life instead of reactive to life. Because this is truly what receiving what we want is about.
It’s about being responsive and flowing with life instead of forcing it through fighting. Feeling as though we need to be battle ready, hard, reactionary, jump up at a moment’s notice. Jump into the battle, slice their heads off.
You can feel the difference in the energy. And that energy, my friend, is what comes out in your branding. It’s what comes out in your self expression, it’s what comes out in your copy, it’s what comes out in your marketing, it’s what comes out in your voice, it’s what comes out in your work.
And so when you can come from this place of receiving, where I can receive beautiful things and I don’t have to fight for them, instead of fighting for every darn thing you have, you are so epically powerful, you can create anything. You no longer have those subconscious handbrakes on that are slowing down your speed and making you wonder what the heck is going on. Why am I not making my income? Why is my income inconsistent? Why am I not finding the success I want? Why am I holding back? Well, all that shit is usually because of your subconscious mind.
Due to limiting beliefs, due to emotional factors, due to who you believe you have to be to have the thing like the warrior, and due to the nervous system stuff that I talk about over and over and over again. So you have to modulate that stress response in order to drop your armor, to drop your sword, and to stop feeling like everything is a battle. And this is what I do with my clients.
I help them step out of these identities that are no longer serving them, these identities that just reinforce that it’s going to be hard and that I’m going to have to struggle or fight my way to what I want so that they can finally open up and be in that expansive space of receiving what they want. You still go out there and do the work, but the work feels more fun, the work feels more passionate, the work feels more fulfilling. The work gets done in less time because you know how to quantum time bend because you understand the internal mechanisms, the psychological neuroscience, manifesting spiritual, all emotional, thought based mindset aspects of the fact that you can create everything and your success is inevitable.
And it can feel freaking amazing when you come from the right place internally. And this is why I talk so much about building the structure, the foundation first, this mindset piece first, and then we build the systems, and then we build the strategies on top of it. Because let’s be frank.
Hi, Frank. No, let’s be frank. Every strategy works when you come from the right perspective, when you know you don’t have to fight for it, and when you know your success is inevitable, because it is when you come from that right place.
And this is what we’re doing in the Embodied Wealth Lab, which we’re starting on March 11 next week. And it’s also what I do with all of my clients and all of my programs in empowering wealth, which is beyond money mindset. It shifts your relationship with money forever.
And in my high touch mentorship program amplified that helps you step into that empowered CEO mindset, helps you feel like success can feel delectable, delightful, pleasurable, and oh so good, and helps you build those streamlined, simple strategies and solutions that make your business fun and work on autopilot. All right? So if you’re interested in any of those, please do reach out. I love working with people on this stuff because let’s be honest, if you’re here and you’re listening to this, you know that you are ready for more and you are just so excited about it.
But there might be subconscious stuff that’s making you feel like it’s going to be hard, like feeling like you have to fight for it. You don’t have to fight for it. It can be so much more fun and easy than that.
