Key Takeaways:
- Celebrate every little accomplishment and win, no matter how small. This reinforces positive momentum.
- Build confidence and self-trust by focusing your awareness on your successes.
- Celebrating small wins releases dopamine, making success feel good and motivating you to continue.
- Don’t wait to celebrate only the big milestones. Celebrate every step of the journey.
- Simple celebrations like a dance party or your favorite tea still count. Just acknowledge your progress.
Today we’re gonna talk about the importance of celebrating the fuck out of yourself and every little, tiny, small thing that happens to you.
Every little, tiny, small thing happens to you. Seriously, Lou. Seriously, Lou.
Seriously, dudes. It’s time to celebrate. It’s time to party down.
It’s time to look at yourself and realize how incredible you are and what a freaking great job you’re doing and how many wins there are every single day. Every single day. Every single day provides you with opportunities, provides you with windows, provides you with new perspectives of all the ways you are doing.
Doing things right, of all of the ways that you are frickin winning, of all of the ways that you are such a freaking badass. But if you don’t ever look at it and you don’t ever stop to acknowledge it, guess what? You don’t feel it. You don’t feel like the badass.
You don’t feel like the winner. You don’t feel like the one who’s doing things right, doing what you need to do for yourself, because you’re never looking in the mirror and saying, I see you. I see what you’re doing, and I love it.
Good job. Me. Good job.
I love it. This is so important. I cannot stress it enough.
We talk a lot about having an accurate mirror of ourselves, right? So that we can see the things that we are maybe not living up to our highest potential with, or that we are, you know, maybe self sabotaging with, et cetera. But it’s equally, if not more important to look at ourselves accurately and say, you know what? I am doing that right? You know what? I am slam dunking the hell out of that ball and knowing that we are planting the seeds for everything that we are growing, that abundant garden that we have within us already, that we are celebrating by acknowledging our wins and seeing the accurate mirror of all of the things that we are doing right. Personal growth is not just about looking at the crap that we need to, you know, the problems we need to solve.
And, oh, my God, there’s all this crap that’s going on. No. And in fact, I’d say put that at the end of the list and look at the things that you were doing right already and build on those things.
Build on the things that are going right for you. Expand on those things. Double down on them.
You know what I mean? You having a lucky day. You double your bets. Double your bets on yourself.
Look at the things that you are doing right and celebrate the crap out of them. Now, an important piece of this is you need to celebrate the simple things, the little itty bittys, the little tiny ones. Because if we’re not celebrating the small, itty bitty, tiny ones, guess what happens? We are not acknowledging ourselves.
The journey feels like a slog. It feels like it’s such hard work. Until we finally reach the top of Mount Everest.
Well, I’m going to celebrate every damn step I take on my way to the top of Mount Everest, because every damn step is an accomplishment. Look where I am climbing Mount fricking Everest. Holy crap, I’m amazing, right? When we acknowledge every step that we’re taking, suddenly every step becomes a trophy, an accomplishment.
And if we want to talk about neuroscience and we want to talk about the way the brain works, it becomes a dopamine hit. It becomes something that makes us start to feel good. And the more we feel good, the more we want to do the thing.
And the more we want to do the thing, the more we stay in momentum, the more we feel motivated, the more we feel inspired, the more we feel passionate, the more we feel joyful, the more it feels fun, the more it feels pleasurable, the more it feels easy. And then, guess what? That’s the way money and success feel, too. Magic formula.
Just laid it out for you. When you build on your successes, success feels easier. So celebrate every little damn thing.
Every little thing. Because otherwise, you’re going to be waiting to celebrate until you get the quantum leap. You’re going to be waiting until you finally reach that hundred k a year, ten k months, or the consistent 20k months, or whatever metric that you’ve decided means I finally accomplished the thing.
Well, if you’re always waiting to finally accomplish the thing, guess what? That thing is always going to be kind of scooching away from you into the future, and you’re always going to feel chronically frustrated and like, well, I’m not quite there yet, instead of going, wow, look what I did along the way, which, again, becomes inherently motivating. And then you feel inspired and you keep going. Even when things are a little wobbly and things aren’t always going your way, you continue on the path because you see all of the things that you’re doing, which are amazing.
Plus, as you see all of those things that you’re doing that are amazing and you reinforce them and you pay attention to them and you look at them, guess what happens? Your confidence builds. Your self trust builds. You begin to trust your intuition more because you see more of the times that you actually won’t.
And did you know how my intuition was right? And you build. You build. You build on your wins, your highest self.
It’s not about faking it till you make it. It’s not about being somebody you’re not. It’s about building into who you really are.
And these wins are who you really are. Now, the last piece here is, you might be asking yourself, how do I celebrate? What is celebration anyway? Do I have to go take a first class flight to Paris? No. It can be like having a little dance, like two minute dance party in your kitchen, you know? It can be like having your night, your favorite cup of tea by the window and staring out the window for ten minutes.
It can just be like, nice job. We. I like it done.
Celebration, it doesn’t have to be big, doesn’t have to be dramatic. Just has to be acknowledged. Because that’s what awareness is.
Awareness is acknowledgement. And as we talk about all the time, awareness leads to our intentions, right? Whatever we be, what we focus our awareness on becomes our intentions. So when we focus our awareness on our wins, guess what? Our wins.
And winning becomes our intention. So celebrate your wins today. And I can’t wait to hear from you how you’re celebrating and how good it feels to be you.
All right, see you soon.
